Targeted at schools, associations and groups in general, 'Fishing in the estuary and the sea' is an activity that combines two elements: an initial educational explanation on board the boat, and a practical experience on land for all participants.
The environmental activity lasts for two hours and begins with a 1-hour boat trip to the Hendaye fishing port, during which participants learn the difference between traditional fishing boats and those designed for intensive fishing. The guide explains the different fishing techniques which exist, such as bottom trawling and sustainable fishing, etc., all in the context of the history and origins of this age-old profession.
During the second part of the activity, participants engage in a practical session in the port, using the fishing gear traditionally employed in wetland areas, such as lobster pots and nets and dip nets, among others. The practical session is eminently sustainable, since everything caught is later released back into the open sea.
The days on which your chosen activity is carried out are shown in blue. If you want to do a trip on another day, you can rent the boat privately (mainly designed for groups).
